Do you feel that you are struggling with sadness or anxiety, feeling unseen, concerns about being 'not enough’ (or ‘too much’), or finding yourself repeating patterns that are hard to break? Perhaps you are currently experiencing a complex and difficult situation, and are craving the space to find clarity around it.
Here you will find a safe environment to explore what’s going on for you. A place where you don't have to hold it all together for the benefit of others, and can express yourself honestly.
I have a warm, empathic and supportive style, and pay attention to how we connect as we work, because this often reflects patterns that show up elsewhere in your life. Together, we can understand where your particular patterns come from and work towards change.
While counselling is a talking-based therapy, you may find it helpful to express certain ideas or feelings through drawing, speaking about your dreams, or reading things you have written. Some clients enjoy homework, which might include reflecting on the session through journaling or art, or putting new ideas into practice, and I am happy to work with you in these ways if you wish to.
Alongside my work as an integrative counsellor, I bring lived experience of single parenting, co-parenting, and unconventional paths to parenthood. I understand some of the emotional nuances this can involve - around identity, choice, and doing things differently from those around you - and I welcome clients who are navigating these (and other) parenting experiences.
Sessions with me cost £60 (for 50 minutes), with concessions available for students and those on universal credit.

Hello, and welcome to Thinking Space - my name is Emily. I graduated in 2019 with a PGDip in Integrative Counselling from the University of Greenwich, and am a registered member of the BACP.
I blend different ways of working, drawing from psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. In practice, this looks like us exploring your experiences and their meaning for you, and trying to discern patterns that may be influencing your present-day life. We will also focus on what is happening now - always guided by what feels helpful to you.
My personal experience includes a non-traditional path into parenthood and family life. This gives me an awareness of the emotional complexity that can arise in areas such as solo parenting, co-parenting, and alternative routes to having children. I will always approach your experience with curiosity and care, recognising that your path will be your own.
